We were at it again this week photographing some beautiful homes in Hilton Head and Bluffton. This is one of my favorite areas of photography as it gives me the chance to focus on the extreme detail found within homes. Architecture has always fascinated me. Like photography, it is an art in itself and the opportunity to document this craftsmanship is amazing.
Hilton Head and Bluffton are so diverse when it comes to architecture. From the tuscan and mediterranean style homes of Hilton Head to the Low-Country, Lakeside feel of Hampton Lakes, you can find it all here. From the beautiful tray ceilings to the large patios, each photo is a new experience.
Detail is one aspect of photography that I feel is often overlooked. The wide shots of the room are great and obviously necessary to establishing the feel and look of a room but when you get down to the fine detail, it finalized the viewers thoughts. The faucets, backsplash, coffered ceilings, vintage tubs, the list goes on and on. The beauty in a photo specific to these features is necessary.
As I have discussed in my previous posts, professional photography is critical when the purpose is to sell or rent a property. Studies have shown the significant impact to sales and rental success rates. Going a step deeper, not only does it help sell or rent the property but conveys a simple message to your viewer. That message is that you CARE and TAKE PRIDE in what you do. It brings out the elegance and vibrance of your property. As I have also stated in previous posts, the purpose of architectural photography (when it comes to for sale and rental properties) is to create an image that is vibrant, easy and pleasing to the eye, as well as accurate. We recently photographed a property which attracted a buyer within days. The buyers words to his agent were “please look at this home and tell me if it looks as good as the photos.” Needless to say, a week later he put in an offer. Why? Well, because the photos were pleasing enough to attract the attention and accurate enough to warrant a purchase.
My point is that professional photography makes a HUGE difference. It attracts buyers and renters, limits your competition, sets you apart from the rest, and shows that you care. This combination of positives allows for a client who feels comfortable with you, knowing that what they are looking at is the real deal.
